Professional Secret: Homemade Natural Cleaner To Restore Vintage Jewelry

My mother has an impressive collection of jewelry handed down by her grandmother. A few years ago she took the jewelry to a specialist to restore and clean it.

She was surprised when the professional jeweler told her the following jewel cleaner recipe, saying that is no need in using strong chemicals for that. Some mundane ingredients will do an excellent job in removing dirt and blackened traces from any golden or silver ring.

She’s been using this natural jewel cleaner since then and she’s fascinated about the sparkling results.

Great! Now, let’s see the necessary ingredients and tools needed for shiny jewels

  • white vinegar
  • tea tree oil
  • baking soda
  • an old toothbrush
  • Mason jar

Instructions:

  • First, take all the jewelry and put them in a Mason jar and cover them with half a cup of vinegar.
  • The next step is to add 1 drop of tea tree oil and mix well the solution.
  • Just leave the jewelry to soak overnight, and the next morning apply baking soda over each jewel piece and rub it gently with an old toothbrush.
  • At the end rinse well with water.
