No matter how brave you are, spider invasions are not a pleasant thing. Sometimes, even the commercially insecticide sprays can’t exterminate these invasions, so here the best natural repellents:
Squeeze a lemon or an orange and sprinkle the juice on all nooks and corners of the house. Spiders do not stand the smell and the tangy citrus taste.
Mix one cup white vinegar with one cup water and pour the solution into a spray bottle. Spray the concoction everywhere through the house to kill and to banish the nasty spiders.
Peppermint essential oil
Spiders can’t stand the peppermint oil, so why not take advantage of this? Mix 8 drops of peppermint essential oil with a little dish soap and water and spray the solution on all corners of the house. If the solution is not concentrated enough, add another 8 drops. Also, for a more powerful repellent you can dilute the peppermint oil in vinegar, not in water.
Chestnuts and walnuts are also very good repellents for spiders. Place a handful of chestnuts on the windowsill and you’ll quickly get rid of spiders.
Of course, proper house cleaning prevents spider invasions. Vacuum frequently the carpets and wipe the floors, also get rid of the very old objects that can attract these insects.
If you live in a house, it is particularly important to maintain proper cleaning of your yard and garden.
