Certainly, cleaning the stove hood gives you real headaches, because of the fat vapors. Cleaning the hood is not just hygienic, but it also prevents a fire, because grease can easily be burnt and produce some disaster.
The grease on the hood can cause unpleasant odors, and these odors attract cockroaches, another unpleasant living being you won’t want to see it in your kitchen. You should already know that the hood must be cleaned on the inside, too, not only on the outside.
1. The hood filters are placed in a zipper bag. Add ammonia and water in equal quantities in the zipper bag, and let this solution to act for 24 hours. After this time, remove them from the bag and rinse with warm water, and let them dry.
2. On the outside, the hood can be cleaned with degreasing solutions, such as vinegar and water. Mix in a bowl a cup of vinegar with 3 cups of water. This solution will remove any fat trace without using chemicals.
Another trick is to put the hood filters in a solution of water, salt and lemon juice for 15 minutes. And if it doesn’t work, you can prepare the same solution and boil the hood filters in it.
